Fees in your statement

Your statement contains a list of fees associated with your merchant account. There are four types of fees:

Interchange fees

The cardholder’s issuing bank charges you an interchange fee when the cardholder makes a purchase with their credit or debit card. This fee covers the cost of processing and authorizing the transaction. 

For each transaction, the interchange fee is a percentage of the transaction amount plus a fixed amount. 

Card association fees

Card brands charge you a card association fee when you use their network. 

For each transaction, the card association fee is either a percentage of your transaction amount or a fixed amount. 

Payroc fees

We charge you a fee for handling each card transaction. 

For each transaction, we charge a percentage of your transaction plus a fixed amount. 

Miscellaneous fees

You are charged miscellaneous fees from Payroc and third-party services. The following table describes common fees that you might see in your statement.

Fee Description
Address Verification Service (AVS) Fee that we charge for each transaction that requires address verification.
Annual Fee Annual fee that we charge for the maintenance of your merchant account.
Auths Misuse Fee that the card brand charges for each transaction that you’ve authorized but don’t settle within the designated time frame.
Auths Only & Declines Fee that we charge for each declined transaction or unsettled transaction.
Batches Fee that we charge for each batch that you closed during the month.
Chargeback Fee Fee that we charge for processing each chargeback dispute on your account. 
Hardware Advantage Monthly fee that we charge if you are enrolled in the Hardware Advantage Plan, which is an extended device protection program. 
Monthly Maintenance Monthly fee that we charge for the maintenance of your merchant account.
PCI Noncompliance Fee Fee that we charge if you don’t comply with PCI’s minimum requirements for processing card payments.
PIN Based Sales Fee that we charge for each debit transaction that requires PIN entry.
Platinum Security PCI Monthly fee or annual fee that we charge for access to SecureTrust, which is our Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance partner. SecureTrust helps you become PCI-DSS compliant. For more information, go to Introduction to PCI DSS.
Regulatory Assistance Program Fee that we charge to cover the costs associated with your 1099-K form preparation. For more information about your 1099-K form, go to Understanding your Form 1099-K.
Retrieval Fee Fee that we charge for processing each retrieval request.
Signature Based Sales Fee that we charge for each credit card transaction that requires a signature.
Voice Authorization Fee that we charge each time you use the voice authorization number to authorize a transaction.
Wireless Monthly Monthly fee that we charge for processing transactions through a wireless terminal.
Wireless Transaction Fee that we charge for each transaction that you process through a wireless terminal.
Zero Floor Limit Fee of $0.10 that the card brand charges for each transaction that you process without an original authorization code.
