A secure token is a unique token that represents a customer's payment details. Instead of re-entering card or bank account details for each transaction, you can use the token to process repeat payments, subscriptions, and charges for returning customers.

Using secure tokens supports Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance by removing the need to store raw payment data. Payroc encrypts and stores payment details, which means that your systems don't hold raw card or bank account data.

Note: Depending on your terminal configuration, you can use secure tokens across other terminals in your merchant portfolio.

Create a secure token

You can create a secure token in the Self-Care Portal using the following:

• Card details
• ACH or PAD details
• An open batch card transaction
• An open batch bank transfer transaction
• A closed batch card transaction
• A closed batch bank transfer transaction

Create a secure token using card details

1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
2. From the navigation menu, select Customers, and then select Secure Tokens.
3. Select New Card Token.
4. In the Merchant Ref field, enter your internal reference for the token.
5. Enter the payment details. Note: Required fields are marked with *.
6. Select REGISTER.

Payroc performs a validation transaction and adds the token to the Secure Tokens list.

Create a secure token using ACH or PAD details

Use this method to tokenize bank account details for Automated Clearing House (ACH) or Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) payments.

1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
2. From the navigation menu, select Customers, and then select Secure Tokens.
3. Select New Account Token.
4. In the Merchant Ref field, enter your internal reference for the token.
5. Enter the payment details. Note: Required fields are marked with *.
6. Select REGISTER.

Payroc performs a validation transaction and adds the token to the Secure Tokens list.

Create a secure token using an open batch card transaction

1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
2. Select Reporting > Open Batch.
3. Find the transaction you want to create a token from.
4. From the Action column, select for the transaction, and then select Create Secure Token.
5. Confirm the details, and then select SAVE.

The Self-Care Portal creates a secure token and links it to the transaction.

Create a secure token using an open batch bank transfer transaction

1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
2. Select Reporting > Bank Transfers Open Batch.
3. Find the transaction you want to create a token from.
4. From the Action column, select for the transaction, and then select Create Secure Token.
5. Confirm the details, and then select SAVE.

The Self-Care Portal creates a secure token and links it to the transaction.

Create a secure token using a closed batch card transaction

1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
2. Select Reporting > Closed Batch.
3. Select the Transactions tab.
4. Use the filters to find the transaction.Note: You can filter by terminal ID, order ID, unique reference, card number (first six and last four digits), transaction date, cardholder name, amount, or retrieval number.
5. From the Action column, select for the transaction, and then select Create Secure Token.
6. Confirm the details, and then select SAVE.

The Self-Care Portal creates a secure token and links it to the transaction.

Create a secure token using a closed batch bank transfer transaction

1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
2. Select Reporting > Bank Transfers Closed Batch.
3. Select the Transactions tab.
4. Use the filters to find the transaction.
5. From the Action column, select for the transaction, and then select Create Secure Token.
6. Confirm the details, and then select SAVE.

The Self-Care Portal creates a secure token and links it to the transaction.
