Use the Self-Care Portal to edit a custom field, for example, the display name and location where the custom field appears.
Note: For more information about how to delete a custom field, go to Delete a custom field.
To edit a custom field, complete the following steps:
- Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
- From the navigation menu, select Settings, and then select Custom Fields.
- (Optional) Search for the custom field by name.
- From the Action column, select
, and then select Details. - Edit your custom field settings. For more information about the settings, go to Custom field settings.
- Select SAVE.
Custom field settings
You can edit the following settings for a custom field:

| Name | Required | Internal name of the custom field. The name must contain 2 to 56 alphanumeric characters with no spaces. |
| Mandatory | Optional | Require users to enter a value for the custom field. |

Type of data the custom field accepts. Select one of the following options:

| Size | Conditional | Set the character limit for the custom field. Required if you select String in the Type field. |
| Display Order | Required | Set the position of the custom field in the custom field list, for example, if you select 3, the custom field appears in the third position in the list. You can select a number from 1 to 20. |
| Labels | Required |
Name of the custom field that we display to users. You can create a separate label for each language, up to seven languages.
For each label that you add, complete the following fields:

| Enable Virtual Terminal | Optional | Display the custom field on the Virtual Terminal. |
| Enable Payment Page | Optional | Display the custom field on the Hosted Payment Page. |
| Enable Bulk Payment | Optional | Display the custom field in the CSV file when you submit a bulk payment. |
| Enable Subscription | Optional |
Display the custom field when you create a subscription.
To display this field when you create a subscription, you must configure the associated subscription template to display the custom field. |
| Enable Receipt | Optional | Display the custom field and the captured information on the transaction receipt screen. |
| Enable Customer Email | Conditional |
Display the custom field and the captured information on the email receipt for the transaction. You can select this field only if you select Enable Receipt. |
| Enable Secure Token Only | Optional |
Display the custom field when you create or update a secure token.
If you enable the custom field for secure tokens, you can't display the same custom field in the Virtual Terminal, Hosted Payment Page, bulk payments, or subscriptions. |
